CHEERPALS Cloud Desk Cat Bed Review: Desk Fit, Hinge Lock, and Medium vs Large

CHEERPALS Cloud Desk-Mounted Cat Bed product image

Quick decision

Consider it to keep a cat beside your keyboard, but only if your desk has a straight, square edge wide enough for the size you pick, and check the hinge lock every time you unfold it.

Best for

A cat that keeps lying on your keyboard or papers, and a desk, sill, or cabinet with a straight edge of at least 24 inches for Large or 21 inches for Medium.

Skip if

Your desk is round, curved, glass-edged, or narrow; you cannot check the hinge daily; or you want a scratching surface or a floor bed instead.

Quick answer

The CHEERPALS Cloud bed is a padded hammock on a folding frame that mounts on the edge of a desk, window sill, or cabinet. The idea is simple: give a cat that insists on lying on your keyboard a spot right next to it instead. The cushion is reversible, with plush on one side and mesh on the other, and the frame folds down 90 degrees when you want the space back.

It is sold on Amazon by CheerHome Pets, the same storefront behind the CHEERHOME PETS sisal scratcher bed, in two sizes (Medium and Large) and two colors (White and Grey). CHEERPALS’ own website also lists a “Cloud Series” desk bed.

Two things decide whether this product works for you: whether your surface edge fits it, and whether its fold-down hinge stays locked. We have not tested it. Everything below comes from the brand’s Amazon listings and its website, plus the patterns in buyer feedback shown on the listing.

What it is

According to the Amazon listing, the Cloud bed is a desk-mounted hammock and perch with:

  • A reversible, removable cushion. Plush on one side for colder months, breathable mesh on the other for warmer ones. The listing gives polyester as the material and polyester fiber as the fill.
  • Raised edges that the listing describes as working like built-in pillows for the cat’s head and neck.
  • A 90-degree fold. Lifting the side frames lets the bed fold flat against the furniture, for storage or to clear the space.
  • Machine-washable parts. The listing says both the cushion and the bed frame can go in the washing machine, and advises against high-heat drying to keep the plush soft.
  • Mounting surfaces: desks, window sills, cabinets, and similar furniture with a straight edge. The listing states it is not suitable for round tables or tables with curved edges.

It is a resting spot only. There is no scratching surface, no heating element, and nothing electronic.

Medium vs Large

Minimum surface width (bullet points)20 in22 in
Minimum surface width (product description)21 in24 in

The two sizes have the same depth and height; Large is about 2.7 inches longer. That extra length is the only listed difference, so the choice is mostly about your cat’s length and your desk.

  • Choose Large if your cat stretches out to sleep and your straight edge is at least 24 inches wide.
  • Choose Medium if your cat curls up tight or your available edge is between 21 and 24 inches.
  • Skip both if the straight part of your edge is under 21 inches. The listing does not support a narrower fit.

The main button on this page opens the White Large listing (B0G47HBC86). Use the size and color selectors on Amazon to switch variants, and check the listing for the one you pick.

The width numbers do not agree

The listing gives two different sets of minimum widths. The bullet points say Medium fits surfaces 20 inches or wider and Large needs at least 22 inches. The longer product description further down the same page says 21 inches for Medium and 24 inches for Large, and adds a note to check surface thickness as well.

We cannot tell which figure is current, so plan around the stricter one: 21 inches for Medium and 24 inches for Large. If your edge only meets the smaller numbers, ask the seller before buying.

The listing does not give a range for how thick the surface can be. If your desktop is unusually thick, very thin, or has a lip or rounded profile, that is worth asking about too.

Weight capacity

The Amazon listing states a 40 lb weight limit (per the Amazon listing as of 2026-10-13): the product description says the bed supports up to 40 lbs, and the spec table on the Grey listings shows a 40-pound maximum weight recommendation. That number is the seller’s claim. We have not tested it, and a weight rating does not tell you how the hinge behaves when a cat jumps in from a height.

What buyers keep reporting

Amazon marks the listing as a frequently returned item. Its review summary sorts feedback into themes. Pet preference was mostly positive: many buyers say their cats took to the bed. Assembly, stability, foldability, and the locking mechanism were mixed or negative. The recurring problems were:

  • The bed folding down under load. Several buyers describe the frame tipping down or the hinge slipping while a cat was in it or when the bed was bumped. Others report it stayed up without issues.
  • Trouble getting it to lock upright. Some buyers could not get the mounting brackets to engage, even after tightening everything.
  • Tools and instructions. Several buyers say the included tools are poor and that their own screwdriver and wrench made setup easier, and some found the instructions unclear about bracket orientation.
  • Glass desks. At least one buyer had trouble getting it to latch onto a glass desk.

These are individual reports, not measurements, and the pattern can change as the seller revises the product. Still, they point at the one part that matters most for a mounted bed: whether it stays where you put it.

Who it suits

The Cloud bed makes sense when:

  • Your cat already follows you to the desk and lies on the keyboard, mouse, or papers.
  • You have a straight, square edge with enough clear width, such as a rectangular desk, a deep window sill, or a cabinet top.
  • You are willing to check that the hinge is locked each time you unfold it, and to retighten hardware if it loosens.
  • You want something that folds out of the way when you are not working.

It is a poor match when:

  • Your desk is round, oval, curved at the edge, or made of glass.
  • Your cat jumps in from a height or is very heavy, and you are not confident in the mount.
  • You want the cat off the desk entirely, not beside you on it.
  • You are hoping it will also redirect scratching. It has no scratching surface.

Alternatives to consider

The useful comparison is between formats, not brands.

  • A floor scratcher bed. If the cat mainly needs somewhere to nap and scratch, a floor-standing piece avoids the mounting question. The CHEERHOME PETS sisal scratcher bed from the same storefront combines a beech frame with replaceable sisal.
  • An ordinary cat bed on a chair or shelf next to the desk. It has no hinge to fail. It takes up space, but a cat that only wants to be near you may accept it.
  • A window perch. If the goal is entertainment rather than company, a sill perch may suit the cat better than a desk-side bed.

Our cat scratcher bed buying guide explains when a mounted bed, a scratcher bed, or both make sense, and the cat scratchers and beds category lists the products we cover.

Before you buy: a checklist

  1. Measure the straight part of the edge you plan to use. Aim for at least 24 inches for Large or 21 inches for Medium.
  2. Check that the edge is square, not rounded, beveled, or glass.
  3. Look at the surface thickness and whether there is a lip or drawer directly underneath where the mount would go.
  4. Measure your cat stretched out to decide between Medium and Large.
  5. Have your own screwdriver and wrench ready for assembly.
  6. After setup, push down on the bed by hand before letting the cat use it, and recheck the lock whenever you fold and unfold it.
  7. Check the current return window and seller for the exact size and color you choose.

How we researched this

Pet Product Compass has not tested the Cloud bed. We did not check mount grip, load capacity, cushion durability, or how cats respond to it. Product details come from the CHEERPALS Amazon listings for all four size and color variants and the CHEERPALS website, checked on October 13, 2026. The buyer-feedback themes come from the review summary and visible reviews on those listings on the same date. Stock and return terms change, so check the listing before you buy.

Verdict

The CHEERPALS Cloud bed targets a specific problem, a cat that wants to be on your desk, and its reversible cushion and fold-down design fit that well on paper. The risk is the mount. The listing’s own width numbers disagree, and the most common buyer complaints concern the hinge not staying locked. Consider it if you have a straight edge of at least 24 inches for Large (21 inches for Medium) and will check the lock regularly. Skip it for round, curved, or glass desks, or if you would rather not depend on a hinge holding a sleeping cat.
